Netflix users interested in seeing the star of GLOW in her new film will be able to do so starting at midnight PST, when it becomes available to all subscribers February 7th, California time.
While it is a Netflix Original, Horse Girl technically premiered for audiences on January 27th at the Sundance Film Festival, so a handful of people have already seen Alison Brie’s latest performance.
So far it has split reviewers right down the middle, as of the 12 critics that reviewed it on RottenTomatoes, six of them ranked it positively, while the other six had a negative take.
The writer and director of Horse Girl, Jeff Baena, also had Alison Brie star in his last major film, The Little Hours, which debuted back in 2017. Given Baena’s short filmography, it’s fair to say he’s quite fond of Brie, who first rose to mainstream popularity from her role on the hit show Community.
Here’s Netflix’s official one-sentence plot summary it has provided for Horse Girl:
A sweet misfit with a fondness for crafts, horses and supernatural crime shows finds her increasingly lucid dreams trickling into her waking life.
It won’t be long now until Netflix subscribers at home can make up their own minds about Horse Girl.
